Jon Vetle Furuheim was booked to fight at FCR 28 in Västerås on April 10th. The fight has been postponed to FCR 29 which will take place on May 2nd in Umeå. Same opponent remains and below you can read an interview with Jon where he explains the situation.
You’re not going to compete at FCR28, could you tell the fans a reason for it?
Yes, unfortunately I won’t be competing at FCR 28. I’ve had a setback in training due to a staph infection and the antibiotics I need to take to get rid of it. This fight is very important to me, and I’m not leaving anything to chance. The good news is that the fight is only postponed three weeks, I’ll still be facing the same opponent at FCR 29, just on a different date.
The fight is still on for FCR 29 in Umeå May 2nd. What’s your message to the fans?
The fight is still on for FCR 29 in Umeå, and I’m really looking forward to it. To the fans: Thank you for your support and patience. I promise the wait will be worth it. I’m moving up to a new weight class, coming in fully prepared and ready to go guns blazing for three rounds. I can’t wait! My training partner Fabian Ufs will also be fighting in Umeå. So this will definitely be a great event with two of Norway’s top fighters on the card.
Do you have any message to your opponent and how do you see this fight play out?
Message to my opponent: Thanks for your patience. Let’s put on a show for the fans. See you May 2nd.
