Fight Club Rush 16 goes down at Västerås Arena on June third, following a successful event in Stockholm last time out.
As is always the case one can expect the best possible amateur fights to be contested inside the FCR cage, evidenced by the latest addition: Jaafer Mohammed vs Anton "Hellraiser" Hellström! The two were supposed to meet at FCR 15 but an injury to Hellström postponed the fight.
Mohammed won the Swedish B-class Amateur championships and holds previous victories over FCR alumns Anton Ringvall and Jafar Yousofi.
However he truly broke through into the mainstream at FCR 14. Facing hometown favourite Robin Kohzadi Mohammed wasted no time putting the pressure on his opponent and eventually secured a brutal TKO win in the second round.
Mohammed would face highly touted Dane Abdullah Ali Amer at FCR 16. It was a tough, grueling fight and despite a spirited performance from the resilient Mohammed, it was Amer who emerged victorious via decision.
Hellström is a three-time Swedish boxing champion who is just as eager to climb the MMA ranks as he is fearless inside the cage. He faced Dimitris Dimitriadis (who makes his pro debut at FCR 16) in his MMA debut at 10. Hellström looked great in the fight, landing vicious strikes. Some of those strikes were misplaced, however, and Hellström was disqualified for repeated low blows.
In his following FCR bout he faced the up and coming phenom Martin Corney at FCR 12, losing via submission.
Both these amateur fighters are true top talents entering the cage with a chip on their shoulder due to coming off a loss - which of these hot prospects will emerge victorious at FCR 16?
