World gold medalist Serdar Altas to make MMA comeback against record-setter Safi Husseini

Fight Club Rush 21 is now less than a month away but the big fights just keep on coming. A flyweight bout has now been announced pitting returning veteran and Swedish National Team standout Serdar Altas (4-2) against the tough-as-nails Västerås fighter Safi Husseini (4-2).

FCR 21 takes place at the Quality Hotel Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on September seventh.

Altas made a name for himself in the Swedish National MMA team where he was a world and European silver medalist and also won gold in the 2017 World Championships.

After that impressive feat of martial arts Altas made the move to pro, winning three straight fights via TKO - including a first round stoppage od British fighter Jake Bond at FCR 3 in the summer of 2018.

Altas would suffer his first pro defeat against the highly skilled Jhonata Silva, but rebounded with a dominant win of his own in his following bout.

That set the stage for Altas' Cage Warriors debut - which occurred against the incredibly tough Scott Malone. The bout didn't go the Swede's way, however, as he succumbed to a second round TKO loss. Now he returns after over three years absence, looking to make his mark on the Nordic flyweight rankings.

Husseini is a former Swedish championship wrestler who has shown that he is more than willing to exchange on the feet. After several strong performances as an amateur Husseini made his pro debut, knocking out Jakob Valegren in a record-setting eleven seconds!

Husseini would hold the record of fastest finish in FCR before Andreas Gustafsson beat him by one second earlier this year.

After that success Husseini suffered defeats against Amir Malekpour and Jonny Touma - two of the absolut best flyweights in all of Scandinavia. Since then he has rebounded by defeating two of Finlands best fighters in ligher divisions and is most recently coming off of a DQ win at FCR 20 against Fadi Farag - in which Husseini looked stellar on the feet up until being caught by an illegal kick in the second round.

With Rohulla Yousofi as the newly-crowned FCR flyweight champ all challengers are looking to ascend the rankings in hope of challenging for FCR gold. A win in this match up may very well present a future contender.
